Get ready for the job.
Before you try to perform the garage door torsion spring repair, you should first make sure to disconnect the garage door opener while the door is shut.

Begin removing and replacing the springs.

After that, simply detach the second winding bar until it has been pointed to the floor.
Utilize the two winding bars in order to remove the tension, by turning it one-quarter at a time.

The seven-foot doors typically need about 31 quarter turns, while the eight-foot ones need about 34 turns.
Once you have finished the turns, just leave one winding bar into the cone and permit it to press against the door securely.
Then, fasten the set screws that are found on the left side of the torsion spring.
